One of our family’s favorite foods is Chinese food. We are actually pretty picky about the Chinese food we eat, and in my opinion, truly “good” Chinese food is hard to come by in rural Kansas! So we were excited when Mom Central asked us to try out the new La Choy Creations. While we enjoy a good home cooked meal, there are also nights when “ready made” or boxed foods is about all we have energy to cook! La Choy now has some new boxed Chinese meals, so all you add is the meat! There are 3 flavors – Sweet & Sour Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, and Asian Fried Rice – none of which contain MSG!
We sampled the Sweet & Sour Chicken. I really enjoyed the flavors of this dish, and even our 2 year old picky eater ate some of it! We used the sauce and rice that came in the box, and simply added chicken. It was easy to make! The only complaint I had was that the box itself could be made smaller – there is empty space at the top of the box which seems like a waste of packaging to me! But the taste was great, and I was surprised at how much the box made. We even had leftovers (and I am a big eater, lol.) 🙂

Coupons & Freebies Mom says
This blog post is from January 2010, so the LaChoy coupons are probably not available any more.
