Saving Lots of Money in 2010: Does that get your attention? I hope it does! How are you going to save money in 2010? Have you thought about this? In other words – What are your family’s financial goals for 2010? A lot of people cringe when they hear the term “financial goals”… but have you thought about your financial goals? If you haven’t, sit down and talk about this as a family NOW! What do I mean by “financial goals”? Simple – what are you going to do with your money this year… Spend it all? I hope not! If you don’t have any financial goals or plans, you WILL end up spending it all! Obviously, here on Engineer a Debt Free Life, we are dedicated to helping you save money with all the great deals and freebies we post! But, beyond that, you need to have some financial goals in mind so you can save money this year, and hopefully lots of it! 🙂 Your financial goals can be something really simple, such as “save an extra $25 a month”, or “reduce your food budget by 10%”, or maybe even “start couponing as a way to save money”.
One of our financial goals for 2010 is obviously to continue to pay off our debt, particularly our school loans (specifically college loans from my master’s degree and from my husband’s bachelors degree). We are also planning to put more money in savings, to hopefully have a nice down payment for our next vehicle in a few years. (This one will likely be my main vehicle – Money Savin’ Momma, so I’m excited about this!)
So again I ask you – what are YOUR family’s financial goals? How are you going to try to save money this year? You are welcome to leave a comment and share your goals and plans with us. We’d love to hear them! By sharing our goals, we can all help motivate and inspire each other! If you prefer to keep your goals private within your family, we understand, and that’s fine too.
