Easy Homemade Lip Balm (only 3 Ingredients)! Who likes easy homemade gift ideas? We do! 🙂 Here’s one you will want to make for sure! Homemade lip balm makes a wonderful handmade Christmas gift! You can use it for stuffing in stockings, adding to a basket, or attached to your Christmas cards.  I make it year round for myself but it is so simple, inexpensive, and fun! This is perfect to hand out to girlfriends, and I even made a bubblegum flavored batch for all the little girls in the family.  To make this Easy Homemade Lip Balm, I used only 3 ingredients. There is plenty of each left over for a lot more homemade  beauty products and other Handmade Christmas gifts! Plus, it’s all natural, which is the way I like to go. This recipe is wonderfully moisturizing and protecting especially in the winter. I made this batch cinnamon flavored for the holidays, but you can choose any flavoring oil you like to create yours.
This recipe uses coconut oil, and you’ll want to be sure to use some of the leftover coconut oil for the Homemade Mens Shaving Cream recipe we shared earlier! 🙂 A great homemade gift for the men in your life!

Easy Homemade Lip Balm
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. beeswax granules
1/2 cup coconut oil
Directions:
Place beeswax and coconut oil in a pot over medium heat, Â I purchased a small, inexpensive pot just for my DIY beauty concoctions. Stir frequently until fully melted.
Remove from heat and add flavoring. Start with a couple drops! Then allow pan to cool a little where it can be touched, but has not set up yet. “Taste” balm by dipping in the tip of a spoon and spreading on your lips. If needed, you can add a few more drops of flavoring. I found this flavoring oil at Hobby Lobby in the cake making section. It is much stronger than an extract, so go easy, especially with this hot cinnamon flavor. Transfer melted mixture to a glass measuring jar with a pour spout (unless your pot has one). Then pour lip balm into small pots. Allow the pots to set for several hours until firm before capping them.
This recipe makes about 12 – 1/2 ounce pots of the Easy Homemade Lip Balm.

Won’t it become liquid in summer due to coconut oil? Specially when temperatures are too high?

Kiki – in a house under normal temps, lip balm is fine. However, I would not take the container to the beach and leave it out in the hot sun. 🙂 Thanks!

The beeswax prevents it from melting to a liquid
