Yup, you read that correctly. The other day we spent $30.38, and now we are getting a rebate for that same purchase, for $31.08.

How did we do this? Many of you may not be aware that Walgreens offers products that are free after rebate. To find these products, pick up the Walgreens EasySaver Catalog in store, or view it online.

So, last Saturday, we purchased some of the free after rebate (known as “FAR”) items at Walgreens. Unlike some people, we limit the items we purchase to those we actually use or will use. (I know some people buy every single thing that’s free, whether they plan to use it or not. But honestly I don’t see the point in that.)

Then, after purchasing the items, I went online and submitted the rebates. All you need to submit online is the RFN# code from your receipt. It’s super-easy and took about two minutes. I am having the rebates issued on our Walgreens EasySaver Gift Card. The beauty of getting your rebates on the EasySaver Gift Card is you get an ADDITIONAL 10% back! This more than covers the tax you paid in the first place. (Unless you’re unfortunate to live in a place with higher sales tax than that. If so, you have my sympathies!)

I highly recommend you get started doing the EasySaver FAR rebates. The only thing you are out is the money for the initial purchase, which you get back in a few weeks, plus 10%!!! And then the next month, use your gift card for the purchases so it won’t cost you anything. Then submit your rebates, and make another 10%. So you are getting paid to purchase free items! And you can get everything from shampoo, to toothpaste, to medicine, all for free! It doesn’t get better than that!

I have been using the Walgreen’s Easy Saver program for a few years now and I am so glad you can enter receipts online now! We almost always use name brand shampoo, hair products, toothbrushes, toothpaste and body wash that were free after rebate. We also use the gift card option and in our state their is a %7 tax rate so we actually make money. I also use manufacturer’s coupons whenever possible. Note: if there is a Walgreen’s coupon in the circular, you can combine that coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon and often get items for free or close to free. Rite Aid pharmacy also has an online rebate program, but I usually find more items that my family uses at Walgreen’s.
