A little bit ago my wife posted about how we signed up for angel food ministries food boxes. This was our first time doing it and all in all I have to say we are very happy with the results. I remember when they started it in this town it had a mile long lineup down the street… not so now, they have timed pickup windows by name. We pulled up and 3 minutes later we were on our way.
We decided on two of the standard packages at 3o dollars each, so the picture below is the food we got for 60 dollars. While we could potentially get a whole bunch of meat on sale from time to time for this cheap, just getting a box full of variety foods (mostly staples) it was a good deal. Anyway, the pic says it all… filled up the freezer. We got pasta, pasta sauce, meatballs, cookies, eggs, milk, bulk chicken, fajita chicken, meatloaf w/gravy, porkchops, sirloin steaks, hamburgers, carrots, veggie mix, hot dogs, tortillas and fruit punch. Anyway, here is the haul in case you ever wondered what the food is like. Mostly off name stuff, but still a good deal.

I volunteer to distribute Angel Food in my community each month, and I can tell you that Angel Food is a big help to a lot of people. For $30 you get a box of food worth about $60. The box includes chicken or beef, milk, eggs, vegetables, and several other quality items, and the menu varies each month. It’s really a great system. You can find an Angel Food host site in your area at .
