Online surveys update with proof of payment photos; Yes, you CAN make money from online surveys!!
- Over 17 ways to make money online, all listed in one “super post” here!!!
We have been reviewing legitimate survey sites every now and then, as online surveys are a great way to earn more free money! In our personal experience, it is definitely possible to earn good money from paid survey sites each month! So, I wanted to post an update on our current favorite online survey sites, with a quick review of each… plus some proof of payment check photos!
All of the survey sites we mention are free to sign up. The more you sign up for, the more surveys you will receive. I recommend you sign up for all of them, and create a special email account, so you can keep all the survey stuff in one place.
ADDED RECENTLY:
Surveyhead – get $5 just to sign up, pays via Paypal – I recently received a $20 survey invitation for a 15 minute survey from this site! You get paid to fill out your survey profile too! We have LOTS of readers earning LOTS of money from this site!
Toluna Surveys: Earn $1-$5 each time you qualify and take surveys. Test products for free and share your opinions! Plus you will get an entry for a $5,000 sweepstakes when you register!
ADDED 3/09:
Ipsos Survey Panel – (United States and Canada Ipsos Survey Panel sign up link) – been sending out more invitations recently, and you can sign up in USA or Canada!
Valued Opinions Survey Panel – surveys up to $50 per survey! They send out tons of survey invitations too!
National Consumer Panel – You get awesome prizes and freebies for taking surveys and scanning your groceries at home. Be one of the lucky few. Join National Consumer Panel!
PineCone Research – an EXCLUSIVE panel that only accepts sign up at certain periods. They pay QUICKLY via Paypal, and you are automatically qualified for every survey they send! To find out if they are taking sign ups, try this link: Click here to sign-up to Pinecone Research
Cash Crate – this one offers everything from paid surveys to get paid to try offers. Cash can add up pretty quickly with the more offers you do!
Survey Savvy – they have sent out more invitations recently, including one for a $50 survey. Woot!
My Survey– they send out quite a few invitations and their surveys are quick and fun! Some lead to paid trials (where you get paid to try new products at home)!
Opinion Outpost – one of my FAVORITES, cash out at $5! I get lots of survey invitations and the surveys are fun!
Mindfield Online – sends out LOTS of survey invitations, some lead to PAID TRIALS… and they just lowered their minimum payout level to $5 (as of 1/19/09)!
American Consumer Opinion – nice variety of paid surveys
HCD Surveys– this one offers lots of surveys where you watch a video (very fun!) and also health care and political surveys (it was great fun during the 2008 election!)
Inbox Dollars – get $5 to sign up, paid surveys and get paid to read emails, plus get paid to do offers. Cash adds up quickly through offers.
Send Earnings– get $5 to sign up, a sister site to Inbox Dollars, very similar
Treasure Trooper – similar to Cash Crate, with various offers, including paid surveys
***And, even though it’s not technically not a “paid survey” company, we also get money by reading emails:
Hits4Pay – get $10 to sign up, get paid to read emails, cash out at $25, paid via Paypal
We have been taking some photos of our checks from these companies over the last few months, and we are including some of them here as proof of payment for you! We generally cash out as soon as we get to the minimum payment level for each site (which is $5 or $10 in many cases). This means we may get more than one check from the same company each month. Some companies, like Surveyhead, pay via Paypal.
Here are some proof of payment checks (TNS = MySurvey):

Can anyone sign up for the surveys or are they limited to US citizens?
Money Savin' Momma says
Some of the survey sites are available to people living in other countries. Here is the easiest way to tell: As you sign up, if you are able to choose a country location other than the United States (in the part where it asks for your address), then the survey site will work in other countries.
Also, even on most of the survey sites that are “limited” to the United States, you do not specifically have to be a U.S. citizen, just a U.S. resident.

How in the world did you get so much from cash crate?? I’ve only been given $1.50 for like 30 different things I’ve done… Help me out!!
madsow says
I do a lot of the daily surveys, you can do up to two daily surveys and if you qualify and finish you get 80 cents each. They usually take me about 10 minutes or less. So if you do one survey every day for the month you get about 24.00, plus I do several offers as I can.

Thanks for the great info!

Does it bother anyone that sometimes these survey sites download “stuff” to your computer that you might not want? They may even be able to get personal info.
madsow says
Actually the don’t download “Stuff” on your computer. If you have an issue with spyware, I suggest you download and install ad-aware.
The only thing the survey companies I have ever used do is retain cookies, but that is windows explorer that does that, not the survey companies.
If you are that paranoid about it, run Ubuntu Linux and firefox like I do. Linux is not susceptable to Viruses or spyware.
Money Savin' Momma says
Anonymous – We have never had ANY of the survey companies we use download “stuff” to our computer. (My husband is a computer geek, so he checks our computer regularly.)
I can’t speak for survey companies that are not on our list, but for the ones on our recommended survey list, we have not had “stuff” downloaded to our computer.

Hi,
thanks for all the sites and tips.
May I ask if you have received checks from inboxdollars and send earnings yet? I recently signed up for the two and I was wondering if they paid you timely and the checks don't bounce back.
In addition, I would like to ask about hits4pay. I visited the site, but in the "terms & conditions" I read you have to fill out a tax form? Wouldn't that require private information? I am a bit uneasy about the tax form thing…
Thanks again.

@ Anonymous: We have never had any of the survey companies we use and promote bounce checks. We do a lot of research and try them out for a couple months before we share them. I don’t like to promote something I have never tried myself. The only thing we have noticed is some companies send checks/payments in two weeks, others are REALLY slow and take 6 weeks. But they have always come through.
Many of the survey companies require your SSN for tax purposes. If you would happen to make over the amount ( something like 600 a year or something), then they have to send you a tax form at the end of the year.

Here is my question – I have read several blogs that say use a junk email address for signing up for stuff. But do you use the junk email when you sign up for these or do you use for the offers you get from these websites? It is a little confusing to me. How do you know when you are getting a big $$ survey if you don't give your "good" email address?
Money Savin' Momma says
If you use an alternate email address to sign up for surveys, you need to check it often, at least once a day. Otherwise you could miss high dollar survey invitations.

Thanks for the tip to set up a separate email address just for surveys. Great suggestion!

Has anyone else had an issue with Survey Head surveys?
I understand they have to ask a certain amount of questions to know if you qualify and then sometimes you don't.
My issue lately is being qualified and getting 1/2, 3/4, or most recently 97% of the way through and then it tells me that survey is now full, they have all the responses needed. Is this just happening to me?
Money Savin' Momma says
@ Anonymous – I have not heard of this happening and have not experienced it myself with SH. It is true that surveys can fill up very quickly, especially with SH, but that has never happened to me in the middle of a survey on any site. In general, surveys should have some sort of contact info available (regardless of what survey site you're using), where you can contact someone to let them know there is a problem with the survey. I recommend doing this if possible, as it sounds almost like it may be a problem with the actual survey itself. There have been a couple times where I have had to contact the survey company in the middle of a survey (not survey head) and they have generally been very gracious and helpful in resolving any survey issues.

I am having trouble figuring out "inbox dollars" do you just do the "read email now" and get paid or all the other options? Seems like you have to pay to do it and I cannot figure it out!

If you are not from the US, how do you receive the cheque? And if you cash in the cheque, how do the bank know what currency that amount of money is in? Cause in my country, we use “dollar” as well, but not the US dollar. Will there be a confusion?
The Engineer says
Kara,
That is a good question. Many of the survey companies now pay via paypal and a couple (only a few) do direct deposit, both of which work in any currency. The rest that are still check (or cheque in your case in Canada) have to be mailed still. If you are not from the US and want check, you need create an account and see if it will let you. I know cashcrate and a couple others will send checks out of country in your native currency, but not all will. From experience, most companies will do Canada (I’m Canadian living in US), but you just need to check with them. Surveyhead is a good one to start with, they support like 100 or more countries. The easiest way to tell is when you go to make an account, if you can select Canada from the drop box… they support it. The only caveat we have heard about is that some of the surveys are targeted for US audiences, so those surveys would not be available for you… so you might only be offered like 80% of the surveys available here in the US. Hope that helps, good luck.
