I wanted to do a quick update again on the Nielsen Homescan freebies to let you know that some new readers just got accepted…. and one of the readers had been trying for months and finally got in… so definitely give it a try, even if you’ve tried before! Also, I’ve gotten a few questions on the program so wanted to address a few of those.
- If you try signing up and you get a message that you are on the waiting list, THAT DOES MEAN YOU WERE ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM. YOU WILL EVENTUALLY GET A SCANNER. It may take a few weeks, or it may take several months. It all depends on when a scanner becomes available for your local area. For me, it took about 8 weeks. It takes less time for some, and longer than that for others. But if you are on the waiting list, you have been accepted. Congratulations!!!
- The program is totally free. You do not pay anything for the scanner. They pay you in prizes for scanning your groceries. You do not pay them. 🙂
- You can also take surveys for Nielsen through this program and this helps points add up even quicker, which means MORE FREEBIES for you!

I have tried getting into the homescan program every time you have posted about it in the last year, but haven’t had any luck until now. I would suggest everyone who has been rejected previously try again.
I love doing the scanning for Homescan, although now they are the Consumer panel or something like that. You have a nice new scanner, mine is one of the old clunker models, it does the trick but I would love a nice new sleek one. 😉 Thanks for letting people know about this program, its a fun way to earn something for shopping and since doing this program I can’t tell you how many errors I have found on my cash register receipts, its actually saving me cash as well!! 🙂 Thanks for all your hard work!
i have signed up numerous times..but nothing. at your suggestion i did it again last week and got the call yesterday i was accepted and my scanner and supplies are on the way. i am sooo glad i took your advice and tried again. i am very excited about getting started. thanks!!
Well I used a different email signing up and I got to a survey (which is the farthest I’ve ever gotten before!), finished that and now I’m just waiting to get accepted! I assume I’m on some kind of waiting list or something.. but using a new email definately worked! I can’t wait to get a call 🙂
