Homemade Oatmeal Soap

Homemade Oatmeal Soap

There is nothing more relaxing than a nice, soothing oatmeal base.  I am a lover of anything oatmeal so I decided to make up a batch of Homemade Oatmeal Soap bars to indulge in.  Oatmeal is so beneficial in your beauty routine and helps alleviate dry skin, itchy skin and also cleanses your skin without stripping your natural oils.  These Homemade Oatmeal Soaps with only 2 ingredients can be used on your entire body including your face and will cleanse away any dirt or debris from the day.  Your skin will feel refreshed and smooth and you’ll have a subtle scent of oatmeal lingering for the day.  Best of all these Homemade Oatmeal Soap bars have only two ingredients and are very affordable to make for everyone.

Homemade Oatmeal Soap with only 2 Ingredients

Yields: 4 Bars

Level: Beginner

Ingredients and Materials Needed:

  • 8 Small Cubes of Melt & Pour Soap Base (Purchased 1 lb at Michaels for $4.99 using a 40% coupon)
  • Oatmeal
  • Silicone Mold Cavity

Directions:

Since we’re making homemade oatmeal soap we need to cut down the size of the oatmeal grains for our soap.  Add a cup of oatmeal into a blender and blend it up until they pieces are smaller but not quite powder.  Cut up 4 large cubes of Melt & Pour soap base and cut that down into smaller cubes to make the melting process faster.  Place the soap base into a microwave safe bowl and place in the microwave for a total of 1 minute and 30 seconds.  Remove from the microwave and give it a good stir to make sure all the soap base has melted down.  While the soap is still hot add in your cup of chopped oatmeal grains in the center of the soap.  Stir it well to blend the two ingredients together.  Now head over to your silicone molds and pour the mixture into them quickly.  Let your soap molds sit for a total of 2 hours and then remove them from the mold and you’ll be left with 4 full size Oatmeal soap bars to enjoy.  If you plan on gifting these soaps to friends and family than be sure to grab our Homemade Oatmeal Soap Printables to go along with them.

I’ve read in many articles that oatmeal is a gentle exfoliant. I’d like to try out these soap bars.

Your soap is pretty! I like the the colored string around them. Simple but pretty way to give them as a gift. I made some awhile back with oatmeal and added some honey. Loved it, it helps with dry itchy skin. Thanks for sharing and the printable so! Pinning and sharing!
