Homemade Lavender Women’s Shaving Cream

Do you love shaving cream but find it dries your skin or leaves you with razor burn?  I also don’t like the weird chemical smell that they often have or how pricey they can be.  But making your own rich, creamy, and deliciously scented shaving cream at home could not be easier!  Include some in a basket with a pack of good razors, lotion, and a bath poof for a great Christmas gift that anyone will love. Everyone from teachers to the mail carrier will appreciate this thoughtful handmade beauty treatment.  The lavender adds antiseptic, antiviral, anti fungal, and is an antioxidant, it is one of the most soothing and healing essential oils and I use it in some way or another daily.

Directions:

Cut shea butter into small pieces.

Place in a small pot over medium-low heat until completely melted.

Remove from heat, place in the bowl of a hand or stand mixer and mix on medium speed until well mixed and it begins to thicken up a bit.

Stir in coconut oil, vitamin E, castile soap, baking soda and lavender essential oil.

Transfer to a container with a squeeze top or pump top-using a funnel.

Mixture will set up but all you need to do to make it flow again is let hot water run over the bottle for a minute or two (or float in hot bath with lid on tight) and it will liquify again.

To use: Apply a generous amount of cream to wet legs, lathering a bit. Shave as usual an rinse. This will make the tub/showery slippery so be sure to rinse it down well with hot water.
