Homemade Peppermint Body Butter
Ingredients:
2 T. Coconut Oil
1 tsp. Vitamin E
15- 20 drops peppermint essential oil
1/2 tsp. beet root powder (optional for coloring)
Directions:
Chop shea butter into small pieces, to make melting quicker, Â and place in a microwave safe dish.
Heat in 30 second increments until melted, stirring between each heating period.
You can also heat in a double boiler if you prefer, I find the microwave to be cleaner (and it dirties less dishes).
Remove from microwave, transfer to mixer bowl and whip in coconut oil, vitamin E oil, an essential oil.
Place bowl in refrigerator and let it set for about 15 minutes until it begins to form a “skin” on the top surface.
Place in the bowl of your stand or you can use a hand mixer and whip until fluffy.
If you have opted to color yours- Stir in beet root powder a little at a time until desired color is reached.
Scoop mixture into an airtight container like a small mason jar.
Add a pretty piece of twine or ribbon and a handmade tag to identify the contents for your recipient.
