Kids crafts

Free Kids crafts! How about some ideas for free kids crafts, or ways to do kids arts & crafts at home without spending much money? Reader Valerie says: Arts and crafts with your kids are one of the most fun ways to spend time at home. Even though you might think you need an entire arsenal of craft supplies, you can actually have a lot of fun with just a few things. The normal items you have around your home will offer you plenty of craft selections to choose from, such as tape, stick glue, construction paper and a lot of imagination. Using items already found in your house means no out-of-pocket cost to you on kids crafts! Those would-be crafters who are lacking on ideas can use the wonders of the web to get some great free tips and suggestions.

It’s also fun to grab your kids and find art and crafts project ideas together. When you see a picture of something you would like to recreate (for example, look for ideas in some of the free magazine subscriptions you already receive!), ask your kids what their thoughts are. Unconventional methods are sometime the most fun and you never know what they’re going to suggest. Working on kids arts and crafts like this makes it uniquely theirs and they will be proud to show it off.

Don’t be afraid to do kids crafts differently, even if it’s something very basic. If you want to make a snowman out of cotton balls instead of foam balls, go for it. If your kids think making a noodle man is much more fun with yarn hair instead of marker on a piece of paper, let them do it. Things like this are what let their imaginations grow and you’ll see an additional element of fun added in the mix. There is no time limit and if you want to redo it again, it’s completely up to you and your children.

Keep it fun, keep it light and make the kids crafts something you’ll want to repeat all over again. By incorporating your children into the mix, they will feel like their opinion counts even when it’s something simple and fun. The more opportunities you give them to express their opinion, the more you’ll get a glimpse into their personalities. It’s fun to see how kids crafts and art projects are expressions of each little vision they have inside their head. With ten dollars (or less!) of supplies and using items you already have lying around the house, you can make kids arts and craft memories that will last a lifetime.

ASK THE READERS: Do any of you have fun kids arts & craft projects that you’ve done at home that your kids loved?
