Here is an excellent summary of the “scam” chrysler is pulling on the public, Pfftt… 2.99 gas.

Last year we bought a brand new left over 2006 dodge ram quad cab, loaded, all the bells and whistles. The base rebate on the truck was 7000 plus we got another 5000 in rebates for taking an 06 even though it was almost 07 (we bought it at xmas). Now they have almost no rebates (last I saw it was like 3000 in rebates) but you get 2.99 gas. Whop-de-doo! While you are saving 1000 dollars a year in gas for three years you are paying for interest probably to chrysler on the lack of rebates on your loan, plus they are making interest in having that money sitting in the bank.
Why do they have to try to pull the wool over the consumers eyes like this. I have recently been buying dodge vehicles and trucks, at least now with my anti-debt motivation I won’t have to worry about it now. Hopefully I won’t need another new vehicle for a really long time.
