Nielsen HomeScan – tips to be successful & get freebies for scanning your groceries at home. I’ve been signed up with the Nielsen HomeScan program for a few months now and am loving it! I want to share a few tips with you all on how to be successful in this program. The more successful you are, the more FREEBIES and PRIZES you can get from this awesome FREE program from Nielsen. - NOTE: Even if you tried signing up before, Nielsen HomeScan may now be accepting new people for your area. It seems like they open up their sign up list every few weeks, and we have heard from people who were previously turned down but have now been accepted into the program. Don’t give up – apply again!

Tips to be successful in the Nielsen HomeScan program:
- Scan your groceries as soon as you arrive home
- Transmit your scan to Nielsen via your computer every single week (you get bonus points for doing this)
- Transmit your scan on the same day each week and mark your calendar so you don’t forget – transmitting on the same day will help ensure you don’t forget to scan that week
- Take Nielsen’s online surveys for extra bonus points
- If you are having any problems or questions at all, contact Nielsen via phone or email. They have been very responsive to my questions.
- Keep the original box your scanner came in. You will need this box to return the scanner if it breaks or if you decide to quit the program.
- If you aren’t sure about the program at first, tell yourself you will try it for at least a month or two. At first I was overwhelmed by the program because it is quite detailed and came with an instruction manual, but now I feel like a pro and am glad I decided to stick with the program.
