Homemade Taco Seasoning (Cheap and EASY!)
We love tacos in our house. Both traditional authentic flavors of south of the border and the Americanized version you find with bright orange colored seasoning packets in the “ethnic” aisle of the grocery store. What we don’t love are all of the added preservatives, msg and other items found in those seasoning packets. So, like me, you all will love this easy and delicious Homemade Taco Seasoning recipe to use on ground beef, ground turkey or even chicken strips. Simple, easy and using common spices found in your pantry it’s something you can mix together ahead of time or at the last minute. I recommend making this in large batches and storing in an airtight container to be used in making tacos, sprinkled over baked potatoes, French fries or even dusted across freshly cooked tortilla chips for a little added zip of flavor.
HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING INGREDIENTS
1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin
1 Teaspoons Smoked Paprika
½ Teaspoon Oregano
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
Stir or shake together and use 1-2 Tablespoons mix per 1 pound ground meat or chicken. For a slightly spicier take on this add in 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes. For a milder flavor reduce chili powder to 2 Teaspoons and increase Cumin by 1 Teaspoon.
