You know how much we love special treats for the kids and these Red Velvet Heart Pancakes are perfect for Valentine’s Day Morning! Not only are they yummy and fun to serve but as is our favorite they aer also semi-homemade! No hours spent in the kitchen to create this beautiful pancakes for the kids! Check these out and make them a new family tradition each year!
RED VELVET HEART PANCAKES
INGREDIENTS
Pancakes:
- 1 Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake Mix, prepared as directed
- 1 Cup Flour
- ½ Cup Milk
Whipped Cream:
- 3 Cups Whipping Cream
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
DIRECTIONS
- Heat griddle to 300°.
- Prepare cake mix as directed on box, adding 1 cup of flour and ½ cup milk to mixture.The mixture needs to be fairly thin, as these must cook quickly to avoid burning.
- Pour ¼ cup batter onto griddle. Cook until edges bubble and start to dry out, then flip.
- Place on wire rack to cool.
- Once cool, transfer to cutting board and cut with a heart shaped cookie cutter.
- Whip cream with sugar with electric mixer on high until stiff peaks form.
- Transfer to pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe around each heart, stacking them as you go.
