Easy Homemade Bisquick Recipe: Homemade Bisquick without Shortening (Baking Mix)

There are some convenience items in your pantry that are so inexpensive and simple to make that there is no reason to buy them already made up! Homemade bisquick without shortening (Baking Mix) is one of them. In addition, when you make it yourself you know EXACTLY what ingredients are going in. I love this easy homemade bisquick recipe (baking mix)! And, it’s not always easy to find homemade bisquick without shortening, so we think you’ll love this recipe!

Homemade Bisquick Recipe (Baking Mix): Homemade Bisquick without Shortening
This easy homemade bisquick recipe mix is made with just 4 simple ingredients that you are sure to already have on hand! It takes about 3 minutes to get together, so there’s no reason not to make it! Right?  Use this homemade Bisquick mixture in place of the store bought in biscuits, pancakes, and all your other baking recipes! Just sub in the same amount your recipe calls for.  I keep some on hand at all times for quick recipes. Store this in your refrigerator for up to 1 month, or in the freezer and use it for up to 3 months! But of course, it usually doesn’t last that long.

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour

5 Tbsp. butter, softened

1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder

3/4 tsp. salt

homemade bisquick ingredients

Directions:

Combine flour, salt, and baking powder! I like to use a whisk to mix it all in well.

homemade bisquick butter cut in

Cut in  butter with a fork well until it resembles crumbs.

Store biscuit mix in an airtight container for 2-3 months, preferably in the refrigerator or the freezer.  A large quart mason jar makes an excellent container for your mix, it is a good size  and looks pretty too! Trace a piece of scrapbook paper and tuck it between the rim and lid for a quick label.
