Homemade Lavender Face Wash

Homemade Lavender Face Wash! I have never been loyal to a store-bought face wash brand because to me, they all left something to be desired-they were either too drying, left my skin too oily, were expensive, etc… As I got older ( I am approaching 40), my skin got drier and every store bought face wash worked less and less. The last few years I have experimented with essential oils and other natural items to create my own bath and body products. I thought why couldn’t a facewash be made from them as well, using all pure ingredients instead of drying chemicals that often make your skin worse. Of course I wanted to include the best essential oils that are known for healing and making your skin beautiful! Check out this Homemade Lavender Face Wash! Lavender is antiseptic, antiviral, anti inflammatory, and anti bacterial,  while Frankincense has long been used as a disinfectant and astringent. The Argan Oil is included, as it is like a liquid gold for face and hair- hydrating and softening naturally.

Homemade Lavender Face Wash

Homemade Lavender Face Wash Ingredients:

¼ cup water

¼ cup castille soap

½ tsp. argan oil

¼ tsp. vitamin E oil

5 drops lavender

5 drops frankinscense

small airtight glass jar

lavender face wash

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a small airtight glass jar, like a mason jar.

Swirl gently to combine.

To use: I like to keep a stack of these cotton applicators on hand to dip in the face wash to dampen the pad and then across my face and down my neck. You could also fill a jar with cotton pads until they soak up all the liquid and then pull them out one at a time. They will be damp and ready to go. I find that it lasts longer if I just use what I need as I go day by day. If you are gifting the face wash, I would recommend adding the pads so its ready to use!

Follow up with your favorite toner and moisturizer.

This mixture will last and be good for up to a month.lavender face wash pads

    Do you rinse afterwards?

Sherri, yes, just like any face wash you would want to rinse after use. Thanks!

I made this in late December. I found it too drying for my skin so I added 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of Avocado Oil and now it is perfect! My face feels wonderful and the dry patches that had started with the original recipe cleared up in about 3-4 days. It will be a staple in my morning/night routine.
