Okay, so Easter’s over for this year, but you’ll want to bookmark this fun Easter DIY Easter Egg Paint Chip Garland craft for next season! 🙂 ***At Easter time, you might be tempted to head out and purchase décor at your local home decorating shop. But once you see the price tags of such cute décor, your mind might be changed! Instead, why not bring in the holiday with something fresh AND frugal? In fact, what is more frugal than something you can make for free?

Using nothing but paint chips and string, you can quickly create a cute, fresh, and fun Easter egg garland! Take a peek below at how to whip up your own in no time!

Easter Egg Paint Chip Garland Materials

Materials:

  • paint chips in a variety of colors (free at Walmart and local home remodeling stores)
  • string
  • scissors
  • mini hole punch (optional) or tape

Directions:

1. The first thing you’ll do after you gather your supplies is create an egg-shaped template to trace on the back of all of your chips. You can freehand one or find a template online.
2. After you’ve traced and cut out all your eggs, punch two holes along the top and then thread the string through.
3. Or, you can just opt to tape your eggs in place with a little clear tape. Easy peasy!
4. Once your eggs are secure, choose a spot to hang your garland and voila! A mantel or entryway is ideal for this colorful and fresh piece!

Kids will enjoy doing this Easter themed craft with you as well! Talk about the oval shape, the colors, practicing gross motor skills as you snip and so much more. Who knew a craft could be so educational and provide such a fun bonding experience?

This is such a fun and frugal craft, you may wish to make several to give as gifts or to decorate several rooms of your house. When the season is over, simply fold and place them in an envelope and you can reuse them next year! It is upcycling art at its best! ***CLICK HERE to pin this on Pinterest***
