Get more cash back and free items at Walgreens!

In our recent 25 ways to save money and bargain shop series, I explained how you can get “free after rebate” items at Walgreens. Since that article was published, I had an email from Cashbaq, letting me know that you can now get 4% back when you shop online at Walgreens. This makes the “free after rebate” items an even better deal!

Not only do you get the items free, you now get 4% cash back on your free purchases through Cashbaq. This is unbelievable! I have updated the original article to reflect this information as well.

So in summary, here’s how the deal works:

• Buy Free After Rebate Items from Walgreen’s online and request your rebate as a check. (If you have a Walgreens where you live, you may want to consider requesting your rebates on a Walgreens gift card, as you will get an ADDITIONAL 10% cash back! You cannot use gift cards online, so you must be able to get to a Walgreens if you choose this option.) If you can catch an online free shipping deal from Walgreens, the only thing you will pay for these items is tax. ***Also, as of 3/5/09, if you shop at Walgreen’s online through Cashbaq, you will get an additional 4% cash back on your purchases. (Sign up for Cashbaq here – it’s free to sign up and use, plus you get $5 just for signing up!) Once you have signed up for Cashbaq, get to the Walgreens website through Cashbaq to ensure you receive additional cash back on your purchases.

• Walgreen’s sometimes has online coupons, so you could end up getting everything for free (plus get money back from Walgreens, in addition to the money from Cashbaq!) if you use the coupon toward your purchase. Example: let’s say your “free after rebate” item total is $30 + tax. Let’s say Walgreens has a coupon for $5 off purchases of $30 or more, plus free shipping. This brings your new total to $25 + tax, but you will receive a rebate check for $30. You have just gotten PAID to shop at Walgreens, plus all the products were free, after rebate!
