Mmmm….. cookies…. need I say more? One of our favorite household treats is cookies, so when Mom Central asked us to try Mother’s Cookies, of course we said yes! Mom’s Cookies are new to the Midwest / Kansas City area, so this was our first time trying the cookies! I must admit I was disappointed to see that the cookies may contain peanut ingredients, as we are not giving our children peanuts until they are at least 3 years old (there is a train of thought that the longer you hold off on giving your kids peanuts, the less likely they are to develop a peanut allergy.) Â However, everyone who was able to eat the cookies thought they were yummy! And regardless of where you live, you can order Mother’s Cookies on Amazon here. They have lots of yummy flavors – everything from chocolate chip to animal crackers to iced lemonade!
Be sure to use your FREE Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks and iRazoo, and you could have some FREE cookies! These would make a great FREE Father’s Day gift! 🙂
Ask the readers: Have any of you tried Mother’s Cookies before?
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Mother’s Cookies and received two bags of cookies and an Amazon gift certificate to facilitate my review.

There has also been studies done from Britain that has not recommended holding off on giving peanut butter and they actually have less cases of peanut allergy then the US. The thinking with that is that the more exposure you have the more you will build up resistance. In my opinion, if you kids are going to be allergic, they will be allergic whether you give it to them at a year, like we did with our oldest(Youngest can’t eat protein sources) or if you want until they are 3.
Obviously, it is your call as you are their parents, just stating the flip side of the coin you might not have heard before.

Thanks for the info Holly – if you have any links to these studies from Britain, I would love to read them. Thanks again for sharing!!

MSM – sometimes companies put a disclaimer on their products just to cover themselves. Most likely they were made in a facility that processes other foods with nuts so they may warn you about cross-contamination.
We have a severe nut allergy in my 3 year old and found out because we suspected an egg allergy. Surprise!!!
Recently my allergist told me that many food allergies are mainly Western culture allergies and she thinks that they may come from our eagerness to over sterilize everything with antibacterial products. Good luck with your kids and I hope they don’t end up with any severe allergies.

Vera – you are correct. However, I don’t want to take any chances, so we’re holding off on giving this product to our kiddos until they’re older. I don’t want to take the risk of cross-contamination. Our oldest son already has some food sensitivities, so we are being extra careful.

I understand the concern. We used to LOVE PBJ’s in my house – now we use sunbutter made from sunflower seeds. Totally yummy and healthier for you! I am still shocked at all the sensitivities there are out there. I know one child with a Red #40 sensitivity – she gets very wacky when given foods with it.
