One of my fondest traditions growing up was making 3 Ingredient Lemon Bars with my mom. There is something so savory and sweet about Lemon bars and I love that they are so simple to make. Most of the ingredients you should have in your pantry already and this can be made (and ready to eat!) in less than an hour. A perfect dessert for a home meal, party or event.
3 Ingredient Lemon Bars
What you need:
- 1 box lemon cake mix
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 can lemon pie filling
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grab a medium size mixing bowl and pour your cake mix into it. Grab your stick of butter and place it in a microwave safe dish and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Placing the butter in the microwave allows it to soften up so it blends with the cake mix easier. Pour your softened butter into your cake mix and stir it well with a spoon. Stir it until the butter and cake mix forms into a clump. Grab a 9 x 13 baking dish and spray it with a cooking spray. Pour your cake mixture into your baking dish and press down firmly to form the bottom of your lemon bar crust. Save about ½ cup of your cake mixture to form your lemon bar crumble topping. Now grab your lemon pie filling and pour it on top of the cake mixture and smooth it out using a spoon or a knife. Take the remainder of your cake crumble and sprinkle it on the top of your lemon pie filling. Pop your lemon bars into the oven for 28 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Slice your lemon bars and place on a plate and enjoy.
