Homemade bath and body products are not only a very popular item to make, they are wonderful to gift. With the holidays coming up, I personally have been brainstorming DIY products that I could include in baskets for family and friends. Â I tried a couple formulations and came up with this Citrus Bliss Homemade Shampoo. It smells heavenly and really brightens up your shower experience with the light fresh scent. Another way I save money and reduce waste is by upcycling bottles to put my gifts in! This particular bottle is from a popular iced coffee drink. Â You want to use glass not plastic, because citrus oils eat away at most plastics.
***Be careful when storing and handling glass bottle in the shower. I leave mine just outside on a shelf and pour just as much as I need into my hand when ready to wash.

Use a funnel to add all ingredients to bottle.
Replace lid and shake gently to combine well.

*Shampoo will not suds up like typical store bought because it is missing the sulfates that can be harmful and cause buildup-this may take a little getting used to.
Shake each time before use.
Add a ribbon and a handmade label to identify your gift, put it in a pretty basket with some other handmade items, a magazine, candle, or other bath time luxuries for a thoughtful gift.

That sounds lovely! I’ve never heard of putting honey in shampoo. Does it leave a residue?
Wow, this looks great! This may be a silly question, but what’s the difference between using raw honey and regular honey you get at the store? I don’t have any raw honey on hand, so I’m wondering how much it matters.
This seems really nice and uncomplicated, thank you!
