As you may know, I am parent of a child with autism. Our oldest son has high-functioning autism (Asperger’s) and ADHD, and yes, we DO have the shirt you see above in our house. 🙂 I know there’s lots of Homeschool Autism Families out there, and I want to share a special Back to (Home) School prayer as the new school year starts… and an amazing giveaway too. And if you’re not a homeschooling family, this prayer can also apply for any family with a kiddo with autism as we begin a new school year. 🙂
Dear God,
I come to You as an autism parent as we begin the new (home) school year. Please bless our family. Please help my child(ren) to have a holy and fun-filled school year. Please guide them to be filled with knowledge and wisdom, and to truly be followers of Christ.
You know that as an autism parent that I am tired. I am weary. I sometimes feel overwhelemd and scared. Please guide me to know how to best teach my child(ren) to love You and to be successful adults in this world.
I ask for Your strength to help my family, and especially my child(ren), get through this life. I ask for the energy to get through each day, the wisdom to know the best way to respond to my child(ren), and the patience I need to stay calm. Please help me not to be afraid, and to trust in Your Will for my life and my family. Help us get to heaven.
Please especially help my child(ren) with autism as we begin this new (home) school year. Help him (or her) make good choices, to make friends, and to be kind. Help him (or her) to know his special vocation in this life and to know what You are calling him (or her) to do. Please help him (or her) get to heaven. Please help my neurotypical child(ren). Guide him (or her) to know right from wrong, and help him (or her) to get to heaven. Guide him (or her) to know his/her special vocation in life and to know what You are calling him (or her) to do.
I pray for all those who have autism, and for their families and friends as we start this new (home) school year. Please guide us all to know Your will for our lives. Please help us to see the gifts in autism, and the good things in autism. Help us to focus on the positives, and not the negatives. Thank you for all the blessings You have given us, and help us grow closer to each other and to You during this school year. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. AMEN.
Love,
Jaime @ Coupons and Freebies Mom
So many families, homeschoolers or not, are feeling financial strain right now. Maybe you don’t have the funds to get your favorite or usual curriculum this year, or maybe you don’t have the budget to buy any at all. Maybe you are brand new to homeschooling; you’ve decided to take your child’s education into your own hands, to have more control in what and how they’ll learn, and you had to cut back your work hours or quit altogether to do just that.
Well, I’ve teamed up with a great group of bloggers that would like to help and bless a few families this year. We wish we could bless more, but we will be able to give THREE families $200 to spend at Christianbook.com to buy curriculum, resources, and supplies for their homeschools.
Winning a gift card to a major online homeschool retailer would surely help you check some things off of your curriculum wish list. To enter for your chance to win, simply use the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Now I know this is quite a few entries, but each of these bloggers has generously chipped in their own money to make this giveaway possible, so I hope you will take the time to do all of the entries. And hey, the more entries you do, the better your odds are of winning!
Giveaway ends August 13, 2021 at 11:59pm ET. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a resident of U.S. or Canada to enter. Selected winners will have 48 hours to respond to email notification to claim their prizes or another winner will be drawn. By entering this giveaway, you agree to be added to the email lists of the participating bloggers (see the Terms & Conditions on the Rafflecopter form for the complete list).

It is a great thing that autism is being recognized for what it is and Doctors and Teachers are now aware of this and are educating the public .
